Discover Why We're Better Together

The name The Oaks was chosen with intention, inspired by the steadfast oak tree, a creation of strength, growth, and beauty that flourishes over time. Just as the oak’s strong roots anchor it firmly in the ground, our foundation is built on our relationship with Jesus. We feel blessed that we are called to this healthcare ministry, and we aim each day to be a light to those around us so that we may glorify our Father in Heaven (Matthew 5:14-16).

Like an oak’s branches that stretch wide to form a family tree, we see every resident, family member, and caregiver as a unique and valued part of a growing, interconnected family, rooted in trust and support.

At The Oaks Residence, our foundation defines who we are:

  • Your health is our top priority.
  • We celebrate each person’s individual interests and gifts.
  • We embrace innovative best practices for senior living.
  • We’re bound together through our successes, losses, challenges, and joys.
  • We believe in having lots of light-hearted, joyous moments along the way!

But above all, everything we do simmers down to love… love of God, love of people, and love of caring for those at The Oaks.

Meet Our Owners

James “Chad” Phillips

RN, BSN, Certified National Assisted Living Manager
President/ CEO

James “Chad” Phillips has a distinguished career blending healthcare and real estate development. With over 13 years of experience in healthcare, he has had critical roles in both trauma and neuro-intensive care units, where he provided high-level care in demanding situations. Before transitioning to The Oaks, Chad oversaw care in a 60-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility as a Registered Nursing Supervisor. Chad is also a real estate developer and property manager.

Chad holds certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and is a Certified National Assisted Living Manager, underscoring his commitment to excellence and safety. His dedication to his profession and community is evident in his numerous accolades, including the TEAM DAISY Award and the Great 100 Nurses Award in Louisiana. Chad is known for his leadership, exceptional work ethic, adaptability, and compassionate approach to care.

Through his many interactions with seniors, he identified a significant need in the local community – a place for seniors who need assistance with daily activities in a place that does not just feel like a home… it is a beautiful home with the best of both worlds – luxurious amenities and exceptional, personalized care. “What I love most about The Oaks is the care model. With only 15 residents, The Oaks offers a higher-than-average caregiver-to-resident ratio during the day – 5 residents to 1 caregiver– allowing The Oaks to provide exceptional, timely care while meeting many of the individual lifestyle preferences of residents.

In his free time, Chad enjoys spending time with his family, biking, and cheering on The Ole Miss Rebels!

Personal Note from Crystal and Chad

We understand that making the right decision for you or your loved one’s care can feel overwhelming. Assisted living is not “one size fits all.” Personally, we watched our loved ones try several large facilities, becoming increasingly discontented as they felt lost in the shuffle of such a large place with many unfamiliar faces.

This is one reason we created the intimate setting of The Oaks… A place where each resident is truly known, care is personalized, joy abounds, and neighbors feel like family. We want you to know this ministry is personal to us, and our dedicated team will care for your loved one like we would our own.

We are happy to sit down and discuss if The Oaks is the right fit for you or your loved one.

Warmest wishes,
Crystal and Chad Phillips
